Year 9 Options Taster Sessions
At this very exciting time in your child's education we are offering some taster sessions in those subjects that would be new to students at GCSE level.
These lessons will take place during PSHE time on Wednesday 29th January 2025.
There will be a single class running for each of the following subjects; Business Studies GCSE, Computer Science GCSE, Media Studies GCSE, PE GCSE Theory, Drama GCSE, Politics ASLevel *.
The intention of a taster session is to support students in their decision making and give them the opportunity to experience what a standard GCSE lesson in this subject may be like. It is not an compulsory nor essential part of the options process and students may opt to take these subjects at GCSE without having attended one of these sessions.
Students can choose to attend one session, however if class sizes are over 32 students, we will offer an additional session on Wednesday 5th February so we can accommodate all wishes.
Students who are not seriously considering taking a subject should not opt to attend as this will not be helpful to them.
Please opt for a GCSE Taster session using the following link: https://forms.gle/zRzVWjNwXTkZfpvi9
*Miss Mezzullo will be contacting parents of the individuals who are invited to apply for Politics AS Level with information about accessing this specific taster session. This is because there is an entry condition to this Year 10/ 11 course. If you wish to apply for your child to attend the Politics session, please use Miss Mezzullo’s communication and response form to request this.
We hope this is a helpful experience for our students and a supportive measure as part of the options process.
